Mike “The Ghost” Ward grew up in franklinville and started playing guitar - basically self taught. After one week, he had witnessed the other talent around town and concluded that he could do as well. Mike started playing bass in a trio at the Ischua Valley country Club with the famed Robert Maxwell Case around 1966. After Case left town for parts unknown in 1968, Mike moved over into the lead guitar spot vacated by Case and continued to play on and off at the club until 1976. He then dissappered from the music scene, reappearing again in 1982, also again at the Ischua Valley Country Club, this time playing guitar in a band called X-Over. After a year of that, he then dissappeared again from the music scene, not reappearing until joining the Usual Suspects as a bass player in 2001. One more time, Mike chose to dissappear (he must have had David Copperfield syndrome) in 2003, and then, as if by magic, reappearing and rejoining the Usual Suspects in 2005 where he continues to appear at each gig, we hope. |
